Now for something completely out of left-field. NVIDIA Ray Tracing is the hot new buzzword for bleeding-edge visuals in games. The tech is baked into the company’s 20-series RTX video cards and is said to “…generate high-resolution, full-scene, real-time reflections that reflect details in front of, behind, above and below the player or camera; details the player couldn’t see with previous techniques.” according to NVIDIA.
Ray Tracing continues to slowly gain momentum as developers come onboard to include the new tech for use in their games. Remedy’s upcoming 3rd-person action adventure – Control has been somewhat of a poster child for the new tech, with games like Battlefield 5 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider leading the charge for early adoption. Check here for a list of current and coming games that support Ray Tracing.
But this is something unique. YouTuber “sertac tasdemir” has put together jaw-droppig recreations of several famous scenes from some of the most talked about action and science fiction films of all-time, and he did it all using the prolific Unreal Engine 4 video game development engine.
Of course, to run these smoothly in real-time sertac tasdemir is using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti video card, which is similar to our Asetek-powered GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Hybrid cooled video cards from EVGA.
These renditions are nothing short of gorgeous and makes us giddy as grade school kids for the potential quality of game visual in the near future. Take note; these are not available for consumption so you can’t download them to test the efficacy of your own sub-RTX video card. Maybe sertac tasdemir will make them available at later date. Until then they are still very glorious to behold in these following videos.
Like what you see? Sertac tasdemir has several more at his YouTube channel. These above were just some of the ones that caught my eye. Which ones are you marveling at? Got any Ray Traycing goodness you would like to share?
